Nutrition is the #1 cause of DNFs in ultra trail races.
And over 60% of the people who do finish feel they performed less because of GI issues.
Needless to say, focusing on training your gut is essential.
And that’s the main thing I want to share today: “Nutrition is trainable.” It’s not a black-and-white story like: “I have a bad stomach or I can’t do this.”
The more you practice, the better your stomach gets at handling different kinds of and different amounts of food.
It’s a key component of training for any kind of ultra marathon. I’ll be sharing more specifics in future posts.
