It's not because you practiced fueling perfectly in training that you can never get nauseous in your race.
So, when you find yourself in that dire spot because you overate or ate something wrong, here's what to do:
1) Stop eating
2) Take sips of water (!)
3) Slow down if necessary
When you overeat, your stomach holds more carbs than it can handle. So, the only way to calm it is to reduce the carb concentration in your stomach.
Drinking helps dilute the carbs in your stomach while slowing down frees up blood for your digestion. And the impact of stopping to eat, well I guess that doesn't need much explanation...
