One of athlete's favorite FAQ topics is: how to take care of your feet in races?
For single-stage races it's usually enough if you prepare your feet in the days/weeks leading up to the event. You can use camphor cream at night to make your skin leathery and take foot baths to make your feet relax.
Even though going beyond this is not essential, changing socks during your race can be refreshing. The same goes for drying them with baby powder (before the start).
If you feel hotspots early on in the race, it can be a good idea to tape them as the blisters could be slowing you down later in the race.
By doing all of this, you will avoid many blisters, but when they still do pop up later in the race, just harden up a little bit :).
