How should you train for multi-day/week adventures like the PCT vs an alpine 100 miler?
I mean, as they’re both about running A LOT, is there a difference at all? We asked coach Karel:
“When I train for the PCT, I focus on training on tired legs more often. I for example do strength training before a long run or purposefully plan long runs on consecutive days.
When I (would) train for an alpine 100 miler, I’d focus on spreading out workouts. Giving myself time to recover well between hard workouts so I can run them when better rested.”
