A seasonal plan is generally subdivided in macrocycles, mesocycles and microcycle.
A macrocycle is a planning period in which a peak form is being pursued at a certain point in time.
A mescocyle is a distinctive training block (generally 3 to 6 weeks) in which a particular fysiologicial or neuromuscular adaptation is being pursued.
A microcycle is a portion of the mesocycle (typically 1 week) where individual training plans are being scheduled with appropriate variation and spread of volume and intensity to achieve the desired training adaptations.
