Here’s a pro tip from coach Karel (who probably ran 100’s of hours in the dark by now):
“I was stumbling hundreds of times each night and lost all my toenails before someone explained what I was doing wrong.
I used to run with my torch on my head and I just couldn’t see how high the rocks and roots were. That’s because the beam of light, in that position, is not casting clear shadows.
So, instead of on your head, you should keep a headtorch in your hand/on your waist. That’s when the shadows become visible and you can see the rocks and roots more clearly.”
