Runners want to have good range of motion in order to have optimal stride whilst having some muscle and tendon stiffness to benefit from optimal ground reaction force.
That is why we use the term Mobility rather than Flexibility.
Adding strength and mobility exercises, on a regular basis, to your training plan will:
1) have positive impact on your performance
2) have positive impact with respect to injury prevention
Correct execution of the exercises is essential though - so listen carefully to the instructions and check or have someone check your execution.
Should you have a particular injury or injury history then please consult your physiotherapist for most appropriate rehab and prehab.
